JAGGAER REV2025 opening session on Day Two
Day Two of REV2025 brought product roadmaps, cutting-edge technology discussions and a celebration of customer success for JAGGAER

JAGGAER REV2025 opening session on Day Two built on the momentum from the event — from the announcement of JAI to a jam-packed opening day.

Day One's impressive demonstrations of AI capabilities, the Pros to Know recognition, as well as packed sessions, hands-on demos and opportunities for leaders to connect, set the tone for what followed.

Separating hype from substance

Day two at Miami’s Turnberry Resort kicked off with an engaging session from Patrick Reymann, Research Director for Procurement Enterprise Applications at IDC.

He began by urging attendees to distinguish hype from reality — a theme that ran throughout his talk.

Looking at the drastic impact of AI, he referred to Jensen Huang’s 2023 prediction that AI would be the “biggest computer industry transition of our generation.” Patrick believes this has come true, given the rapid rate at which AI, in all its formats, is being harnessed.

He described it as this generation’s “iPhone moment”.

Yet, amidst the buzz, Patrick warned of misleading terms like “AI-native” and “AI-first”, calling for a label akin to ‘greenwashing’ to address exaggerated claims.

He reminded the audience that AI is not new to procurement applications. “It wasn't born with the birth of Gen AI,” he said.

Concluding his session, Patrick addressed the uncertainty around procurement jobs in the face of AI and automation. Referencing a Deloitte study suggesting that 70% of procurement roles may become obsolete or significantly altered within three years, he stressed the need for proactive engagement with these technologies.

“Procurement professionals must kick the tires — let's become familiar with what's available out there. How can we leverage this for our use cases?”

A roadmap built on user insight

Following Patrick, Jon Lawrence, Chief Product Officer at JAGGAER, took to the stage to outline the company’s roadmap, focusing on three core areas: supplier intelligence, source-to-contract and procure-to-pay.

It follows on from the company introducing the world to JAI – its intelligent AI co-pilot for procurement transformation.

These capabilities are what customers have or can access today in 25.2 and also as part of its features and functions growth in 25.3.

Framed by four guiding themes — user experience, AI and automation, risk and resilience and interoperability — the roadmap showcased progress grounded in both technological innovation and customer feedback.

At the heart of this evolution is a belief that AI should be foundational, not superficial: “AI is not necessarily a feature, but it's more of an enabler,” Jon said.

Much of JAGGAER’s product development, he explained, has been driven by customer feedback. Emphasising the need to improve intuitiveness and efficiency, Jon said: “We’ve had a lot of feedback... on not only the importance of, but the true need to improve the user experience.”

Improved usability, he noted, enhances both process efficiency and broader organisational engagement.

JAGGAER’s supplier intelligence capabilities streamline communication, tighten fraud controls and support sustainability goals. AI-driven automation powers real-time supplier qualification and risk management.

In source-to-contract, the debut of “Smart Quote” — a proof-of-concept tool — uses AI to recommend suppliers, questions and quote comparisons. These features aim to speed up sourcing without sacrificing oversight: “It's about putting more guardrails, more controls, allowing the human to be in the loop.”

In procure-to-pay, new features include AI-generated account code suggestions and better handling of supplier non-conformities, contributing to more efficient and accurate data flows.

Procurement made frictionless

Alastair McMullan, VP of Product Management at JAGGAER, took to the stage to unveil a major innovation in version 25.3: the Guided Intake Experience. Designed to make complex procurement simple, it ensures even non-experts — such as new starters or occasional users — can confidently navigate procurement processes.

“Within a few simple questions, users will be directed to a pre-negotiated supplier contract. No hunting, no guesswork,” he said.

Whether it’s maintenance parts, IT requests or selecting a service form, the tool guides users with intuitive questions and even connects to external systems like Jira when needed. “You empower non-expert users to shop confidently and compliantly.”

In parallel, JAGGAER has launched a process orchestration prototype in version 25.2, simplifying complex workflows such as contract approvals and PO generation through a single intelligent intake.

“This automatically orchestrates based on rules and dependencies,” Alastair explained, giving users a single point of request and full visibility throughout the process.

“This is more than a feature,” he concluded. “It’s transforming the way we think about procurement. It’s guided, it’s intuitive and it’s aligned with how users actually behave.”
