JDA Software Group, and Centiro, the provider of cloud-based delivery management solutions, has announced a global alliance to jointly deliver their industry-leading retail supply chain management solutions. By extending JDA’s supply chain execution solutions with Centiro’s parcel management capabilities customers can drive new efficiency from omnichannel fulfilment.

The rise of omnichannel retailing is placing increased pressure on retailers’ supply chain capabilities. Current customer demand is dictating how and when they would like to receive goods, as well as how they would like to return them. Studies have shown that nearly one in two consumers would be deterred from shopping online with a retailer if they offered inconvenient fulfilment options. This reinforces that fulfilment and returns excellence is becoming a requirement for retailers globally.

“We are really excited to be partnering with JDA as it exposes our delivery management capabilities to a truly global retail customer base,” said Niklas Hedin, CEO of Centiro. “Traditional supply chain systems have been based on product volume and a finite number of delivery locations. Now, customer preference is dictating that retailers must ship a wider variety of goods to an infinite number of locations, while at the same time be able to manage a growing number of returned goods. Our partnership with JDA will enable retailers to offer the fulfillment and returns experience that customers are demanding.”

The alliance between Centiro and JDA will enable retailers to provide ‘anywhere anytime’ fulfillment and return services that are fast, convenient and reliable. Through providing consumers with a full-circle brand experience, retailers will be able to further boost customer loyalty and profitability.

“Customers are no longer prepared to wait an indeterminate number of days for a delivery to be made, or to visit a store to collect their goods,” said Fabrizio Brasca, vice president of solutions strategy at JDA. “Today’s retailers require real-time operations in order to fulfill orders within hours or even minutes. To make this happen, retailers need to ensure that inventory and fulfillment plans are executable, and supported by effective delivery management capabilities. At JDA we are always looking for other best-in-class providers to align with, and Centiro’s capabilities help to deliver a differentiated omni-channel capability to our customers.”
