PSC LIVE Chicago: Interview with BizClik CEO Glen White

Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE Chicago is set to bring together procurement and supply chain's finest from across the US and beyond.

The event, set to be co-located with Sustainability LIVE Chicago, will take place at the iconic Convene Willis Tower on 28-29 May.

It marks a watershed moment for BizClik, the UK-based digital media and events company, which began staging in-person events back in September 2021.

Here, Glen White, CEO of BizClik, discusses the remarkable rise of Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE and Sustainability LIVE, while detailing what industry-leading executives can expect from the Chicago event.

The decision to take Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE and Sustainability LIVE to the US for the first time, with Chicago as the chosen destination, wasn't made lightly.

Glen highlights the city's strategic advantages: "It's central, a great hub for people to come from the east coast as well as the west coast, but it's an industrial heartland of the US."

The choice has proven a masterstroke, with the Willis Tower event set to attract around 2,000 attendees.

"We have an entire floor with three very distinct stages, Glen continues. "It's incredible and our team have worked tirelessly to pull this off."

Parts Town: Why the Future of Supply Chain is Female

The supply chain and distribution industry faces a major talent crunch, but there remains a major untapped talent pool.

Women, despite making up nearly half the workforce overall, remain underrepresented in these roles.

However, companies looking to stay ahead are rethinking how they recruit and retain female talent – and it’s working. More women are stepping into key supply chain roles, breaking stereotypes and helping businesses build a stronger, more resilient future.

Here, Lisa Backlin, Group Vice President of Supply Chain at Parts Town Unlimited, tells Supply Chain Digital how organisations can better attract and retain female talent in their supply chain teams.

Why are women still underrepresented in supply chain and distribution?

There’s still a lingering perception that supply chain is all hard hats and heavy lifting, work traditionally associated with men. Due to that perception, it hasn't been framed as a strategic dynamic field where women can thrive. That's changed dramatically in the last few years, but we've got miles to go.

US Trade Court Blocks Trump Tariffs: What Happens Next?

A US trade court has blocked most of the tariff orders President Donald Trump has issued since taking office in January 2025.

The move could have significant implications on the US president’s controversial trade policy, which has seen import taxes placed on most of the US’s trading partners and steeper reciprocal tariffs placed on nations and blocs including the EU, the UK, Canada, China and Mexico.

On Wednesday 28 May, the Court of International Trade said that the US Constitution gives Congress the exclusive authority to regulate commerce with other countries.

It added that this was not superseded by the president’s emergency powers to safeguard the US economy — the White House had previously imposed tariffs after invoking an emergency law under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).

The Trump administration has lodged an appeal against the ruling.

Workday: Reshaping Supplier Contract Strategy With AI Agents

Supplier contracts sit at the heart of procurement operations, setting the foundation for compliance, risk management and value realisation.

With Workday unveiling a series of AI-powered agents aimed at transforming enterprise functions, leaders now have a new toolset designed to make contract management faster, more accurate and strategically aligned.

Among the innovations announced is the supplier contract intelligence agent, developed to proactively review supplier contracts, highlighting obligations and opportunities that can be missed in traditional manual processes.

This development places contract visibility and alignment at the forefront of procurement strategy, shifting focus away from time-consuming administrative review and towards action-driven decision-making.

Workday positions its new AI agents as being purpose-built to supercharge employee productivity, designed to enhance both human capability and process efficiency.

FedEx and Neste Expand SAF use in Emissions Reduction Push

Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plays a major role in the aviation industry's path toward reducing emissions, with the International Air Transport Association estimating it could contribute around 65% of the reductions required for net zero CO₂ emissions by 2050.

In the supply chain sector, where logistics and emissions intersect daily, the shift to lower-carbon aviation fuel holds significant implications for global freight networks.

Two major players enabling that shift are Neste and FedEx. Neste is the world’s largest producer of SAF and renewable diesel, while FedEx stands as the largest express cargo airline globally.

The pair have recently committed to a sizable SAF agreement at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), marking the largest SAF purchase to date by a US cargo airline at that location.
