The organisation continues to focus on strengthening its operations while aligning supply chain transformation with long-term sustainability objectives.

Focus on sustainability across the supply chain
Having spent more than two decades in environmental policy and climate leadership, Vanessa currently serves as Global Environment Vice President within Schneider Electric’s Sustainability organisation, where she plays a central role in shaping the group’s climate strategy.
Her previous roles include working within the French Ministry of Energy, contributing to a UK-based green infrastructure investment fund and leading decarbonisation projects at Microsoft.
With the latter, she focused on renewable energy procurement and reducing environmental impact across supply chain operations.
Vanessa steps into her new role with a clear directive: accelerate the group’s environmental and social initiatives throughout the value chain. Her remit covers sustainability, safety and real estate strategy, with a focus on aligning each area to the company's broader environmental and operational goals.
She joins the GSC leadership team and reports directly to Chief Supply Chain Officer Mourad Tamoud.
“I am honoured to take on this role at such a critical moment in our supply chain transformation," says Vanessa.
"Sustainability and safety are not just operational imperatives – they are strategic levers for impact and powerful engines of innovation. I look forward to working with our global teams to accelerate environmental and social progress across the full value chain."
Alignment with Schneider Electric’s global goals
Vanessa's appointment reflects the company's stated intention to maintain sustainability as a core element of the supply chain.
Schneider Electric aims to create a model that is efficient, safe and environmentally responsible – and the appointment of Vanessa forms part of a wider leadership reshuffle designed to advance these objectives.
Mourad adds: "Vanessa’s deep expertise in climate and environmental strategy, combined with her global perspective, makes her uniquely positioned to lead this next chapter.
"Her appointment reflects our unwavering commitment to building a supply chain that is not only resilient and efficient, but also safe, sustainable and aligned with our purpose.”
The GSC unit at Schneider Electric manages the company’s global logistics, manufacturing and supplier operations. In integrating sustainability into this structure, the company expects to meet both regulatory requirements and customer expectations for transparency and responsibility in sourcing and production practices.
Real estate and safety prioritised
Vanessa's role also includes oversight of real estate strategy and safety across the GSC structure.
These areas are increasingly linked to environmental targets, with facility management seen as a contributor to energy efficiency and carbon reduction across global operations.
By housing these functions within a single portfolio, Schneider Electric aims to drive better coordination between environmental goals, physical asset management and workplace safety. The structure is designed to support cross-functional collaboration and embed climate-related accountability throughout its operations.
Vanessa brings policy experience, operational know-how and a track record in delivering measurable climate outcomes, leaving her well-positioned to guide these integrated efforts. She is set to become a key voice within the leadership team responsible for the company’s global supply chain footprint.
Crucially, Vanessa's appointment follows a period of transformation within Schneider Electric’s GSC operations, with a growing emphasis on supplier collaboration, low-carbon logistics and responsible material sourcing.
As the business continues to to adapt to regulatory pressures, customer expectations and internal sustainability benchmarks, Vanessa is tasked with delivering results across a range of environmental and social priorities, while ensuring supply chain performance meets global business needs.
