Market trends

Amid ongoing turbulence and a market which has been reshaped every few months due to volatility, leading supply chains have been able to demonstrate excellence. In a year defined by tariffs, wars, climate change and disrupted critical trade routes, global supply chains have not had an easy run.

To recognise the hard work done by leading companies, Gartner has published its Supply Chain Top 25, looking at the organisations which have maintained a thorough understanding of their customers in order to meet expectations.

According to Gartner, the leading organisations "understand customer value, invest in demand management and promote innovation in support of ESG". In its ranking, Gartner identifies, celebrates and profiles companies which are going above and beyond in their supply chain management. To consider the ranking, Gartner has looked at financial and corporate social responsibility data and community opinion, gaining a thorough understanding to ensure the best organisations are rewarded.

Three macro trends have stood out among the supply chain leaders of 2025:

  • Autonomous Workforce - leading CSCOs are aligning development pathways to allow for a more streamlined human-machine collaboration
  • Network-Centric Strategies - by incorporating the cost of turbulence and adaptability into business cases, with maneuverability and scenario planning, organisations can undergo significant transformation
  • End-to-End Supply Orchestration - there needs to be deeper ecosystem collaboration, with supply chain visibility and planning capabilities

Ongoing commitments

Schneider Electric has, for the fourth year, taken the top spot in the Gartner Top 25. The manufacturers is a global leader in energy technology, merging sustainability and efficiency through its goal of electrification. The company is automating and digitising industries, businesses and homes.

Through its work, it is aiming to allow buildings, data centres, factories, infrastructure and grids to operate as open and interconnected ecosystems. It aims to enhance performance, resilience and sustainability through its intelligent devices, software-defined architectures, AI-powered systems, digital services and advisory solutions.

Now, in its final year of its three-year supply chain transformation, Schneider Electric is taking its place as a leader due to its integration of autonomous workforce and end-to-end orchestration.

"Every year brings a different context - more volatility, more demand, more pressure on our teams and our partners. This recognition reflects the consistency of the work over the past few years, and the trust of both peers and experts across our industry," explains Olivier Blum, CEO at Schneider Electric.

"Our teams demonstrated a strong sense of ownership as we've been scaling significantly over the past few years. Through it all, we've stayed focused on one thing: delivering a superior experience for our customers.

"That commitment continues to shape how we operate. Electrification, digitalisation and increasing automation are helping us build a more resilient supply chain as we continue advancing energy technology for our customers. Sustainability is embedded in that work too - built into how we design, make and deliver our products, and reflected in the progress we're making every day."

Gartner recognised Schneider Electric for combining advanced digital technologies with ongoing collaboration with its partners and suppliers. Through this, the organisation has been able to develop resilient, adaptive and sustainable operation.

The company has also been recognised for how it is applying generative and agentic AI in order to scale circularity throughout its operations. By combining technology, human insight and sustainable impact, Schneider has been able to develop resilience, innovation and measurable impact.
