Evri and SF International’s new partnership aims to reshape UK-China ecommerce logistics, streamlining cross-border shipping and expanding globally

A growing partnership between Evri and SF International could signal a significant shift in how UK and Chinese logistics providers approach the expanding global ecommerce market.

On 8 December 2025, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding at SF Express' global headquarters in Shenzhen, setting out plans to streamline cross-border shipping, improve service efficiency and develop joint solutions aimed at both retailers and consumers.

The agreement also indicates that both parties will explore new opportunities beyond China, with the US and Australia identified as potential markets.

Expanding through strategic partnerships

Peter Huang, VP of SF International, highlights the mutual strengths of both companies: "The core of the collaboration between SF International and Evri lies in their synergistic potential within the UK.

"Evri's nationwide coverage and efficient fulfilment capabilities will provide critical support for SF International to deepen its local presence, while SF International's global logistics strength will further enhance the cross-border service experience for Evri's customers."

The partnership announcement follows a record half-year performance for Evri. Parcel volumes increased by 12% whilst adjusted EBITDA rose by 22% to £209m (US$265m) for the 26 weeks ending 30 August 2025.

Parcel volumes grew by 47 million to reach 425 million, alongside revenue gains of 12% to £973m (US$1.23bn), driven primarily by strong marketplace trading and the continued boom in second-hand and "pre-loved" ecommerce.

John Sansby, Director of Global Partnerships at Evri, says: "This year has been a transformative one for Evri, and this agreement sets the stage for expanding our international capabilities and unlocking new opportunities for cross-border ecommerce.

"We look forward to working closely with SF International to enhance services between China and the UK and explore further growth in the years ahead."

Operationally, Evri recruited 5,000 couriers during the summer to meet demand, with volumes exceeding 18 million parcels during many weeks.

Evri's focus on service and technology investment has been recognised externally. According to Citizens Advice's annual parcels league table, published 19 November 2025, Evri ranked joint third alongside DPD, noting it as the only carrier with a consistent upward trajectory since 2021.

Improved brand recognition

"These financial results reflect the strength of our strategy and the dedication of our colleagues and couriers," says Martijn de Lange, CEO at Evri.

"We're delivering more parcels than ever, expanding our client base and improving profitability – all while continuing to invest in the future of delivery.

"Evri's performance sets a strong foundation for the second half of the year as it prepares for the key peak trading period. We have recruited 9,000 extra couriers and are investing over £30m (US$38m) to boost our operations and service."

The company's operational improvements have been reflected in customer satisfaction metrics, with consistent service enhancements across its network.

These investments demonstrate Evri's commitment to maintaining service quality whilst scaling operations to meet growing demand from both retailers and consumers.

Strategic expansion and network enhancement

Evri's performance follows strategic expansion moves in 2025. In October, it finalised a merger with DHL eCommerce UK, forming the enlarged Evri Group. The combined organisation now delivers more than one billion parcels and a billion business letters annually.

In 2026, DHL eCommerce UK will be rebranded as Evri Premium – a Network of DHL, operating as a separate network specialising in fast, time-sensitive deliveries and secure shipping for high-value and large items.

In May 2025, Evri completed its first acquisition, Irish logistics and customs specialist Coll-8, to accelerate cross-border delivery and return capabilities across Ireland. The company is also investing over £50m (US$63m) to deploy an in-house network of 10,000 smart lockers.

These moves enable Evri to compete more effectively in the rapidly evolving logistics sector, particularly as cross-border ecommerce continues to grow across multiple markets.
