Women breaking glass ceiling in US and Euro logistics

Stockholm Ports appoint Magdalena Bosson as its new CEO, while US logistics CEO Techa Pacitto wins award for 'thinking differently about supply chain'

Stockholm Ports appoint female CEO

Magdalena Bosson will take over as the next Chief Executive Officer of the Ports of Stockholm on 1 January 2023.

Ports of Stockholm is one of the world’s largest passenger ports and one of Sweden´s largest freight ports. In an average year, they will handle around 16 million passengers and 9 million metric tons of goods.

Following the appointment, Bosson said: “Developing vital infrastructure for sustainable transport to and from the Stockholm region, together with our customers and colleagues, will be very rewarding.”

Chair of the Board of Ports of Stockholm, Clara Lindblom, said: “Magdalena has an eminently suitable background with extensive experience of driving infrastructure issues and leading politically governed organisations.”

Previously, Bosson had roles including Transport Department Director at Stockholm City Council, CEO at new-homes management firm Familjebostäder.

Female US logistics CEO scoops award

Techa Pacitto, CEO of logistics company IL2000, has received a 2022 Women in Business Achievement Award.

Every year the award, from Inside Business, is given to women who have made a lasting impact in their business community.

IL2000 is a US-based logistics management services company, and – says Inside Business – Pacitto “galvanised its commitment to thinking differently about supply chain management, combining expertise, customer service, and customised transportation management tools to solve some of the world's toughest supply chain problems”.

"I want to see our passionate ingenuity continue to initiate change across the supply chain industry," Pacitto said. “Great results are a product of people believing in me and my believing in them."
