HERE Technologies Launches AI Logistics Management Solution
A pioneer in mapping and location technology, HERE’s new Fleet Optimisation software package is designed to enhance the efficiency and scalability of fleet management operations.
The package addresses the critical demands of the transportation and logistics industries.
It improves delivery times and decreases operation costs by leveraging HERE’s artificial intelligence to create solutions for complex commercial fleets.
New robust APIs
HERE’s new offering is a package of robust, location-based application programming interfaces (APIs).
The Fleet Optimisation package includes key components such as Tour Planning, which leverages best-in-class map content and complex routing scenarios that navigate real-time traffic and restrictions to ensure the optimal deployment of a multi-vehicle fleet.
It also offers Routing, Geocoding and Search, and Map Rendering- which delivers detailed map data with rich attributes used specifically by commercial vehicles, including road restrictions, bridge heights, road topology and topography.
The package is built to run natively on AWS and HERE offers a single, transparent pricing model for all components, allowing for better cost control and flexible pricing. It is available for in-house software developers and integrated software vendors (ISV).
"Streamline and enhance fleet management"
"The Fleet Optimization package is designed to streamline and enhance fleet management processes, helping customers manage their fleets more efficiently and at a reduced cost," says Remco Timmer, Vice President of Product Management at HERE Technologies.
"We are committed to opening up access and providing every mid-sized business focused on moving goods and services with solutions that have traditionally been deployed by only the biggest companies,” Remco continues.
One benefit of the new HERE package is the incorporation of variables, such as vehicle profiles and driver availability, to provide a more precise estimated time of arrival (ETA).
The company has shown these capabilities afford a 20% potential reduction in fleet management costs, 90% potential reduction in rerouting times, and a 20% potential increase in driver productivity.
These reductions could translate to a real efficiency boost for supply chain professionals, and represent key examples of the benefits of logistics digitisation.
