Understanding Coca-Cola Europacific Partners

Many may confuse Coca-Cola Europacific Partners with The Coca-Cola Company, but these separate organisations have distinct roles within the beverage ecosystem, with CCEP operating as a bottling partner.

"We're the largest bottler by revenue in the global Coke system," explains Tim.

The company has an extensive global footprint, operating in more than 30 countries.

"Through the agreement we have with The Coca-Cola Company, we don't only manufacture and distribute products for Coca-Cola, but for other companies as well."

Spearheading transformation

Tim serves as a director in the business process and technology function at CCEP, with a specific focus on supporting the company's supply chain operations.

His role currently centres on leading a significant global and business-wide transformation programme in the form of SAP S/4HANA implementation

The project represents a rare opportunity for fundamental change at CCEP, occurring only once every decade or longer. This technological refresh is being leveraged to incorporate sustainability principles directly into the company's core systems.

"We've looked at all of our business process ambition for the future state of the company and mapped that to our business requirements in the technology we're looking to deploy," says Tim.

"One of the things that comes out very clearly is the need for us to start making some fundamental changes in terms of the data we're going to be capturing and transacting in the system where sustainability concepts are concerned.

"It's very much been part of the journey we've been on over the past 18 months."

Supply chain challenges in a volatile world

As is the case with many large manufacturers, CCEP faces ongoing supply chain pressures in an increasingly unpredictable global environment.

Tim continues: "Like everyone else, there's the operating environment we're in at the moment – the volatility, uncertainty and external pressures that, to a certain extent, are beyond our control, but we have to deal with their consequences.

"In our particular case, it's more about leveraging our scale. We have grown significantly over the last few years by expanding into new geographies and new territories. We're looking to gain more efficiencies as we scale out our operations."
