FourKites Giving Clariant’s Supply Chain More Visibility
Leading supply chain visibility provider FourKites will empower Clariant, a sustainability-focused specialty chemical company, giving it a competitive edge in supply chain visibility for its ocean shipments.
After just six weeks of implementing FourKites, Clariant has achieved its highest ever tracking percentage for international shipments, paving the way for the company to get a rapid return on its investment.
Clariant will benefit from a more streamlined operation and increased amounts of customers reporting satisfaction with the process.
Gaining visibility
By harnessing the power of FourKites’ platform, Clariant has gained vital visibility into its ocean shipments through one unified and connected platform.
FourKites will be used by all of Clariant’s international stakeholders across all its business units – as well as its customers.
The global solution will provide critical alerts and updates, alongside dynamic predictive estimated times of arrival (ETAs) through the transit of the items.
This will help Clariant to mitigate any disruptions facing the supply chain, as well as reduce the manual work and further improve customer satisfaction.
“FourKites was the preferred solution that could help us gain real-time visibility on our ocean shipments and service enhancement for customers,” says Yannick Jehli, Head Global Logistics Solutions Services at Clariant.
“The highly accurate ETAs enable us to automatically give all our global stakeholders the tracking data they need, exactly when they need it, without the hassle of multiple systems and inefficient manual tracking.
"Not only will this enhance our customers’ experiences, but it will help us stand out amongst competitors.”
FourKites supporting business around the world
FourKites is working across the globe to improve supply chains, such as collaborating with the SSC as its first real-time visibility platform, joining companies including Blue Yonder, DHL, JB Hunt and Uber Freight.
As well as partnering with Barilla to ship 2 million tons of pasta every day – giving the business visibility into 80% of its road and ocean shipments transported by a fleet of 35 carriers and three ocean freight forwarders.
Based in Switzerland, Clariant is a global leader in specialty chemicals whose company purpose includes working closely with its customers for meaningful impact, as well as leading the transition towards sustainability. It expects to track all ocean shipments globally with the power of FourKites.
“The Clariant team told us they wanted to move from a reactive to a dynamic and proactive approach in predicting and preventing disruption of their shipments,” adds Marc Boileau, Managing Director EMEA & APAC at FourKites.
“FourKites will integrate all of Clariant’s ocean tracking information in a centralised platform, making it simple and straightforward for all users to access. As a result, the company will save valuable time and resources and reduce overhead costs in the process.”
