Temu and bpostgroup are expanding their global collaboration to support European sellers.

The MoU outlines an increase in availability alongside accessibility to delivery, helping sellers and consumers gain access to new delivery services at lower prices.

The move comes as other providers are cracking down on their logistics options, implementing tighter delivery restrictions.

Expanding e-commerce supply chains

Temu is a global e-commerce platform which connects consumers with manufacturers, business partners and brands globally. It has operations in more than 90 markets around the world, with an aim of providing affordable products to consumers.

Now, it has signed an MOU with bpostgroup, a leading logistics expert which operates in Western-Europe, North America and Asia. The partnership will support sellers across Europe and expand global collaboration between the two companies. As a result, European sellers and buyers will see greater efficiency and reliability when using Temu's platform.

The partnership will create a more streamlined and efficient logistics network, bringing together expertise from both companies. Temu brings its capability in e-commerce, with millions of users and streamlined supply chains due to its multi-national network. To the partnership, bpostgroup adds its expertise in parcel operations, transportation and logistics infrastructure.

Temu and bpostgroup will make their operations more accessible, by creating new pick-up and drop-off networks and implementing new services for heavier parcels and a range of diversified delivery models. This allows sellers and buyers to better control their parcel delivery services, meaning less missed deliveries and better visibility.

"This agreement is a strong step forward in deepening our international partnership,” says James Edge, CEO of Cross Border division at bpostgroup.

“By combining bpostgroup’s logistics network and innovation capabilities with Temu’s global platform, we can deliver efficient, sustainable and customer-focused solutions for the evolving e-commerce market.”

Lower prices and better logistics

The two companies will prioritise building an integrated logistics solution which will help support local-to-local and pan-European delivery. The focus will ensure quality and affordability, while also enhancing scalability.

Founded in Boston in 2022, Temu opened its marketplace to local sellers across Europe and in Belgium in 2024. This meant sellers could reach new customers and grow their businesses, without the high expenses of other platforms.

Under this MOU, more small businesses will be able to benefit from these low prices and a thorough logistics network. As well as targeting established markets, the partnership will also work to identify and evaluate new regions which will allow for further collaboration. This might include increasing capabilities in warehousing, transport and last-mile delivery across North America and Europe.

Temu expects local sellers and local fulfilment to account for up to 80% of its European sales in the near future, which could come to fruition through collaborative partnerships which increase logistics efficiencies.

“We see bpostgroup as a strategic partner in strengthening logistics performance across multiple regions,” adds a Temu spokesperson.

“Our partnership with bpostgroup is about giving European sellers the tools to grow and for more consumers to access quality products at affordable prices.”

Network transformation

bportgroup's insights on environmentally responsible and low carbon solutions can be applied to help Temu's operations reach the company's sustainability goals. Moreover, the MOU will help Temu see more efficient and streamlined logistics and transportation.

The partnership provides a solid foundation for Temu to expand its delivery options to enable better accessibility or its consumers. It will also provide the framework for future initiatives which will better support consumers, sellers and the e-commerce ecosystem.

This partnership comes at a time where other e-commerce platforms are tightening their logistics. TikTok Shop is implementing harsher restrictions for Postal Service shipping, meaning that all US Postal Service shipping labels need to be purchased and printed through TikTok Shipping. As a result, shipping labels from external sources - such as Postal Service accounts and ShipStation - will be rejected.

The tightening of control over the shipping process of the products sold on its platform means that shippers are already deciding whether or not to continue business with the platform, as it means higher complexity and less profits for the logistics providers. Moreover, this could raise the costs for sellers and buyers.

This directly contrasts with the aims of the Temu and bpostgroup's MOU, making sales more accessible.
