People Moves: Donato Giorgio, CSCO at O-I Glass

Supply chain stalwart Donato Giorgio has been appointed SVP and Chief Supply Officer at O-I Glass.
The move comes after 16 years with Essity, latterly as President of Global Supply Chain.
End of an era
Donato bids farewell to Essity after almost 17 years with the organisation.
He initially joined in 2009 as a Regional Director at SCA, prior to its split from Essity.
From 2015, he assumed a trio of Presidential roles, looking after Global Tissue Supply & Procurement, Global Manufacturing and finally Global Supply Chain.
Announcing his departure, Donato said: “Today marks a significant day for me, as I say goodbye to Essity after an incredible journey and embrace an exciting new chapter at O-I. It's a mix of emotions – gratitude for the past and excitement for the future.
“My time at Essity was a fantastic experience. I'm incredibly proud of the journey we took together, building a world-class, integrated global supply chain, in a newly-created Essity.
“I am profoundly grateful to all my colleagues for the immense personal and professional learning and for the privilege of working with you.”
Orchestrating a global supply chain
In his new role, Donato takes responsibility for orchestrating O-I’s global supply chain strategy, ensuring seamless coordination across procurement, manufacturing, logistics and sustainability initiatives.
He is tasked with driving efficiency, resilience and innovation in supply operations, while aligning supply chain performance with broader business goals and customer expectations.
This new focus on a fully-integrated, end-to-end supply chain forms a critical component of O-I’s strategic drivers.
“I'm thrilled to join O-I as Chief Supply Officer and SVP,” added Donato.
“I was captured by the determination of everyone I met to become an ultra-competitive industry leader and set new standards for sustainability, customer experience and competitiveness.
“Gordon Hardie (CEO) inspired me with his leadership and vision to make O-I Glass the best in its field.”
