Ongoing growth

GXO Logistics is one of the largest pure-play contract logistics companies, using cutting-edge warehousing and distribution methods in order to design, manage and optimise supply chains around the world.

It offers tech-enabled and customised solutions at scale to some of the leading companies, ensuring efficiency, innovation and resilience throughout the supply chain. The company operates as a highly integrated network, across 27 countries, 869 locations and approximately 94,000 team members.

As a result, companies are increasingly turning towards GXO's solutions, which are particularly useful for ecommerce, omnichannel retail and direct-to-consumer channels. Despite its growth, GXO is not planning to stop there.

"We have a total potential addressable market across North America and Europe of approximately US$430bn," the company states on its website.

"GXO holds a 5% share of the US$130bn in logistics spend outsourced in North America and Europe, and there’s opportunity for another US$300bn that’s currently insourced. Given our asset-light business model and continuous deployment of technology, there is vast runway for expansion."

In 2025, GXO closed the year with a record-breaking revenue of US$13.2bn, a 12.5% year-on-year increase from 2024. The company's growth does not stop there, as its 2026 Q1 earnings also broke records – a 10.8% increase from the year prior, to US$3.3bn, with an organic revenue growth of 4.1%.

"In the first quarter, we delivered strong revenue growth and profitability, underscoring the strength and predictability of our business model," explains Patrick Kelleher, CEO of GXO.

"Our commercial efforts are driving wins in higher margin growth verticals, including aerospace & defense, technology, industrial and life sciences, and we’re seeing demand accelerating, with our pipeline growing to an all-time high of US$2.7bn.

“Three priorities are powering our path forward – sharpening our commercial strategy, strengthening execution and leading in AI and next-generation automation, and we made good progress in each this quarter. Our commercial momentum is building, especially in North America where our pipeline grew 35% sequentially. We’re implementing a global framework for standardising and scaling excellence and our deployment of AI, automation and robotics is accelerating."

Automation and innovation

GXO is seeing success as it is repeatedly keeping up with global demand. The company is opening and upgrading highly automated sites, utilising robots and AI-driven systems, which are allowing it to grow its capabilities.

In April, GXO implemented the first Autoload system in Europe for Grupa Żywiec in Elbląg, a leading beer producer. Through this, the company is seeing increased workplace safety, throughput and greater operational standards. The system automates trailer loading and unloading, utilising a one-shot cycle, reducing operation time significantly.

Human error risk is eliminated and manual handling activity is reduced, meaning safety for workers is greatly increased.

Technology and innovation is taking place elsewhere across GXO's capabilities. In France, deployed its first autonomous industrial truck in March. The vehicle, powered by KION, was one step in GXO's integration of AI-driven technology into the workforce.

Throughout this, the company is aiming to demonstrate measurable improvements in cost-savings, productivity, operational scalability and customer safety.

By embracing robotics and automation, GXO is seeing increasing levels of growth, showing how modernisation and digitisation in logistics is allowing companies to meet customer demands and see the benefits.
