sennder's Bid to Further Expand European Operations

As a pioneering digital road freight forwarder, sennder offers shippers access to a connected fleet of thousands of trucks.
The company's acquisition of C.H. Robinson’s European Surface Transportation (EST) operations sees its European footprint expand to more than 20 countries and positions the business among the top five full truckload (FTL) players in the region.
sennder has pledged a seamless transition, aiming to maintain high service standards for EST customers and carriers throughout the integration period, after which EST will operate entirely under the sennder brand.
sennder's digital edge
Founded in 2015, sennder focuses on digitalising and automating road logistics processes, creating an ecosystem that enhances transparency, efficiency, and sustainability.
Operating a fleet of more than 40,000 trucks across Europe with access to in excess of 120,000 vehicles, it continues to lead the way in green transport solutions. The firm’s backing by investors including Baillie Gifford, Accel, HV Capital and Lakestar, as well as strategic partners Poste Italiane and Scania, fuels its innovation strategy and market advancements.
By integrating EST, sennder continues its mission of transforming road freight with technology-driven solutions and enhances its operational strength and network density.
David Nothacker, Co-Founder and CEO at sennder, highlights the strategic significance of the deal: "With this acquisition, we are creating a European tech logistics powerhouse that will benefit our carriers, customers, employees and the wider industry.
"By adding the expertise and network of EST to sennder’s digital platform, we are accelerating our mission to build an efficient and sustainable road freight network in Europe and enhancing our service offering to more than 20 markets."
Leadership changes
The acquisition of EST brings key leadership changes at sennder, with several senior EST figures joining the company’s C-suite team:
- Chris Mills takes on the role of Chief Operating Officer, having previously served as Vice President of EST
- Christoffer Haldemar becomes Chief Commercial Officer, having been Sales Director at EST
- Arkadiusz Glinka steps in as Chief Growth Officer, transitioning from Product Director at EST
“Chris, Christoffer and Arkadiusz will be excellent additions to our management team," continues David. "Their experience and expertise in building and spearheading a complex road freight product in Europe will be invaluable to sennder.”
Chris underscores the alignment between the two companies' goals: "It was very important for us to find a strong partner and home for our team that shares our vision and provides clear growth prospects.
"I am full of confidence that we will have a successful future as part of sennder. Our combined forces will help to bolster the European road freight network and we are pleased to continue our journey in this combined business."
With its acquisition of EST, sennder has positioned itself as a driving force in modernising Europe’s freight industry while pursuing its environmental goals.
David concludes: "We look forward to joining forces with, and welcoming, the EST employees to sennder for this promising opportunity."
