Xerox, known for its innovative contributions to office productivity, is adapting to the digital age by strategically partnering with SAP to transform its enterprise architecture.

This includes in the supply chain space, where it is taking advantage of supply chain management solutions to optimise global operations.

The move, underpinned by the adoption of RISE with SAP, forms a crucial part of Xerox’s ongoing Reinvention initiative, which seeks to revitalise its core printing business while expanding into digital services and IT solutions.

A strategic shift to RISE with SAP

Xerox has chosen to collaborate with SAP in response to the challenges posed by the digital revolution.

RISE with SAP – a managed cloud service – offers a comprehensive suite of tools, including cloud software, infrastructure and services, designed to facilitate a smooth transition to cloud-based operations.

With SAP’s S/4HANA Cloud at its core, it’s hoped RISE with SAP will drive ongoing innovation by modernising Xerox’s critical business processes.

This partnership represents a clear indication of Xerox’s commitment to enhancing efficiency across global operations. By migrating to the cloud, the company expects to reduce IT costs and standardise processes, aligning with its broader strategy of simplifying its application landscape. This transformation is poised to support the development of new business models that address evolving market demands.

“By shifting to the cloud with SAP solutions, Xerox is streamlining operations, becoming easier to do business with and within, and positioning itself to be a services-led, software-enabled organisation,” explains Louie Pastor, EVP and Chief Transformation and Administrative Officer at Xerox.

“SAP is a strategic partner helping us meet the evolving needs of our clients and partners as we increase our speed, agility and cost-effectiveness while providing the entire enterprise with modern tools and improved support.”

Supply chain forms part of integrated platform

Beyond the initial cloud migration, Xerox is leveraging a range of SAP solutions to further its transformation. These include SAP Business AI, SAP Customer Experience, SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) and supply chain management solutions

Together, these tools are creating an integrated platform that spans various business functions, including finance, supply chain and sales.

One of the primary goals of this integration is to enhance real-time visibility into operations, in a bid to significantly boost Xerox’s agility.

This will enable the firm to introduce new offerings in more efficient fashion, while also driving automation, simplification and cost reduction across the board.

SAP Business AI, meanwhile, looks set to improve business integrity screening at Xerox and will be applied to numerous additional tasks in years to come. This strategic use of AI highlights the organisation’s commitment to adopting advanced technologies to drive growth and operational excellence.

Harnessing digital supply chain solutions

Xerox’s partnership with SAP is also focused on harnessing digital supply chain solutions to optimise operations around the world, which is especially important given it has a presence in almost 150 countries.

By improving inventory visibility and extending analytics across its operations, Xerox stands to benefit from data-driven decision-making – a critical advantage in today’s rapidly-changing global market.

Dominik Asam, CFO and Executive Board Member at SAP

“We’re proud that Xerox has decided to leverage the power of SAP's solutions to drive its reinvention,” adds Dominik Asam, CFO and Executive Board Member at SAP.

“Through its selection of RISE with SAP, Xerox will implement new business models to enhance client experiences and begin integrating SAP Business AI to drive its business forward. This will enable the company to build on its strong history and introduce a new era of workplace innovation for its clients.”
