Accenture’s bid to Expand SAP and Supply Chain Capabilities
Accenture’s agreement to acquire Camelot Management Consultants is further proof of its intent to expand its capabilities in both SAP and supply chain.
The deal to buy Camelot will see the professional services powerhouse bring on board an internationally-respected, SAP-focused management and technology consulting firm, with specific strengths in supply chain, data and analytics.
As a result, Accenture is set to find itself better positioned than ever to help clients build the intelligent and resilient supply chains that today's business landscape demands.
“We are seeing a surge in demand for data and analytics services in supply chain management, strongly driven by increased market volatility and the need for companies to make their logistics more efficient,” comments Tobias Regenfuss, Technology Lead for Austria, Switzerland and Germany at Accenture.
“With our acquisition of Camelot, we will further enhance our capabilities and services to help clients use technology to address complex and pressing business needs and drive additional value.”
Expertise in SAP, data and supply chain
Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Mannheim, Germany, Camelot is a leading SAP partner across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with additional offices in the US, the UAE, India, Poland and Spain.
Over the past three decades, the business has grown to the extent that it now boasts a broad client portfolio including large and mid-sized companies operating in the chemicals, life sciences, consumer goods and industrial manufacturing industries.
In addition to recently being named SAP Digital Supply Chain Focus Partner within the diamond initiative for the second consecutive year, Camelot has been recognised by several leading analysts and has won numerous awards including Germany’s Best Consultants 2024.
Accenture’s acquisition of Camelot Management Consultants brings more than 700 highly-qualified professionals to Accenture, including SAP, data and supply chain experts.
“We’ve been providing management and technology consulting services for nearly three decades and have become a leading SAP partner with clients in a wide range of industries,” explains Libor Kotlik, Managing Partner at Camelot.
“Accenture’s global scale and service portfolio will enable us to bring innovative ideas and solutions to clients while creating exciting development opportunities for our people. Together, we will address the key market demand and build lasting value for our clients.”
Accelerating adoption of AI
Camelot’s deep expertise in supply chain management stands to bolster Accenture’s ability to drive the reinvention of its clients’ entire supply chains.
The firm also offers experience in analytics, data strategy and modernisation, capabilities which enable beneficiaries to build strong foundations for accelerating the adoption of AI.
Recent research from Accenture shows less than 10% of companies are widely using AI and generative AI across their supply chains, despite the fact adoption of these technologies correlates with higher profitability.
“Many organisations struggle to navigate global disruptions, comply with evolving regulations, meet rising customer expectations and keep pace with technological developments,” adds Christina Raab, Market Unit Lead for Accenture in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
“Driving value faster requires extraordinary flexibility and a reinvention of traditional approaches. With Camelot’s deep supply chain expertise, we’ll be even better equipped to help organisations thrive amid disruption to stay relevant and grow.”
Accenture’s acquisition of Camelot comes hot on the heels of a similar deal to buy Einr, a Norwegian SAP-focused business consulting firm, in May 2023.
