Schneider Electric heads 2023 Gartner Supply Chain Top 25
Schneider Electric lands top spot for the first time in the most recent Gartner Supply Chain Top 25 for 2023. It is followed by Cisco Systems and Colgate-Palmolive, in second and third respectively.
Gartner’s annual Supply Chain Top 25 is the preeminent ranking of supply chain leaders. Now in its 19th year, the rankings celebrate and highlight excellence in supply chain management. Supply chain teams, meanwhile, use the list to benchmark performance, transform operations, and lead into the future.
Gartner says of this year’s rankings: “The superior supply chains highlighted don't just push products, they understand customer value, invest in demand management as a differentiating capability, and promote innovation – not just compliance – against ESG factors.”
It adds: “We believe sharing best practices should be done through a transparent methodology that reflects a diversity of opinions."
The Top 25 methodology combines financial performance and opinion data. Gartner says that financials “provide an objective basis on top of which to place community peer and Gartner analyst votes”.
Of the top three businesses in its list, Gartner says the following.
Schneider Electric “As a part of The Zero Carbon Project, Schneider and its suppliers defined a roadmap for reducing carbon emissions. Schneider also provided training, resources, guidance and implementation support, including a digital community for project participants to share best practices.”
Cisco Systems “In response to the current semiconductor shortage, Cisco is prioritising capability development that closes critical
operational gaps. Leveraging scenario planning, the supply chain organisation at Cisco has built playbooks designed to protect the business against risk in an increasingly volatile environment.
Colgate-Palmolive “Its supply chain strategy prioritises environmental sustainability and community well-being. To build agility in a dynamic global environment, ColgatePalmolive applies end-to-end supply chain segmentation in modular designs and new technologies.
