JAGGAER Revamps AI Strategy with New Leadership

In April, JAGGAER, a front-runner in procurement technology, made public its strategy for leveraging cutting-edge technologies with a focus on innovation and performance enhancements.
This strategy includes advancing AI, improving customer experience and operational efficiency, enriching product capabilities, and focusing on sustainability and emissions tracking.
Central to these strategic objectives is JAGGAER's commitment to advancing AI, particularly its application of agentic AI to transform supply chain procedures.
This involves the integration of autonomous, intelligent systems within the JAGGAER One platform. By combining intake AI with orchestration AI, JAGGAER facilitates a seamless procurement process, vastly reducing the need for human intervention.
As such, the company is targeting the realisation of an autonomous supply chain modelâone marked by intelligence, adaptability and self-management.
To further this mission, JAGGAER has appointed its inaugural Chief Digital & AI Officer, emphasising the company's dedication to pushing AI-driven innovation across procurement and supply chain management sectors.
Introducing Gopinath Polavarapu, JAGGAER's New Chief Digital & AI Officer
With a solid background in enterprise AI solutions, Gopinath Polavarapu has recently served as the chief solutions officer at Kore.ai. Known for his passion for technology and innovation, Gopinath is stepping into his new role at JAGGAER to steer and expedite the company's AI strategy, aiming to meet its ambitious goals in the supply chain sector.
Gopinath will work closely with Jon Lawrence, chief product officer, and Pascal d'Arc, chief strategy officer.
Together, they will spearhead the AI transformation initiative, embedding intelligence into a hyper-automated, conversational and collaborative platform.
This endeavour seeks to enhance human decision-making while expediting business outcomes.
Building an AI-Focused Roadmap
Tasked with contributing to JAGGAER's comprehensive AI roadmap, Gopinath will work to further develop agentic AI for both the JAGGAER One Platform and internal operations.
This includes enhancing employee productivity and constructing AI capacity through talent acquisition and an AI Centre of Excellence, alongside fostering an environment conducive to AI thought leadership.
"Iâm honoured to join JAGGAERâs exceptional team as chief digital and AI officer," said Gopinath Polavarapu.
He added: âBy embedding fine-tuned LLMs, AI agents and agentic workflows into the JAGGAER One platform, we will automate spend analysis, contract intelligence, and invoice processing, transforming data into real-time autonomous actions and process automation for spend management."
Gopinath further expressed his enthusiasm for working with the team to cement JAGGAERâs place as a leading vertical AI spend management provider, committed to delivering unmatched efficiency and cost savings.
Fostering innovation through leadership
Yancey Spruill, interim JAGGAER CEO and operating managing director at Vista Equity Partners, noted: âWhile JAGGAER has been leading with AI offerings in the procurement market for years, the addition of GP as our chief digital & AI officer will foster even faster innovation through generational technological transformation.
"Each member of JAGGAERâs leadership team was selected for their unique background and talent to contribute to customer success, and GP is no exception in this regard,â Spruill continued.
He highlighted the dynamic future ahead for JAGGAER, noting that "the last five years will certainly not be the same as the next five years, and we welcome fresh perspectives to steward us through our next phase of growth with Agentic AI.â
