SAP and Accenture collaborate to help defence agencies with digital transformation
Accenture is collaborating with SAP to co-develop and bring to market a new digital defence solution designed to help defence and security agencies accelerate their digital transformation journeys.
Extending the current defence and security capabilities of SAP software, the solution will be based on SAP S/4HANA, the intelligent enterprise resource planning suite for digital businesses built on the SAP HANA advanced in-memory platform.
“I’m excited that Accenture and SAP are working together to create new intelligent solutions that support the operations of our defence clients in a rapidly changing digital world,” said Ger Daly, who leads Accenture’s global Defence & Public Safety business.
“This work will help clients derive the maximum benefit from their defence investments, delivering better outcomes faster in support of their mission.”
The digital defence solution will contain enhanced analytics capabilities and enable greater use of digital applications by military personnel.
It will also offer simulation and analytics applications to help defence agencies to plan and run their operations effectively and efficiently and respond quickly to changing operating environments.

“This solution gives defence agencies the capabilities to operate in challenging and fast-changing geo-political environments that require an intelligent platform with deployment agility, increased situational awareness and industry-specific capabilities,” said Antti Kolehmainen, managing director of Accenture’s Defense business.
The technology will also enhance leadership decision-making through data-driven insights while enabling greater data integration across the enterprise in areas such as personnel, military supply chain, equipment maintenance, financials and real estate.
Enhanced internet of things integration will be enabled to facilitate defence agencies to adopt and interconnect new devices that are capable of collecting and exchanging data.
Flexible delivery options for both on-premise and cloud deployments will also be available to support rapid and cost-effective deployment to meet changing organisational needs.
