Supply Chain Sustainability: 3 lessons embedding sustainability in complex global business

Speaking at Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE, Jon Willescroft, International Procurement Director (CPO) at G4S discusses the challenges and strategies of implementing sustainability within a large global business. 

During his keynote, he outlines the ways in which procurement has evolved over the years and emphasises the growing importance of sustainability in the function. 

Lessons learned - G4S’s sustainable Journey

Addressing the audience, Willescroft identifies three key lessons he has learned from G4S’s sustainability journey:

  1. Focus on the critical aspects of the business
  2. Find the sweet spot between investing time effort and resources, to drive both sustainability and business outcomes
  3. Leverage data to make informed decisions

Willescroft concludes his keynote by acknowledging the constant evolution of sustainability and the need for agility in order to adapt to changing customer expectations and global legislation. 

He also highlights the importance of having effective partnerships and technological solutions to accelerate the sustainable journey. 

"I think the important thing is that we keep pushing forward and actually companies like this are sharing approaches and what we're doing is incredibly powerful,” said Willescroft.
