Supply Chain Digital takes a closer look at the services JDA Software will provide Scania to power its supply chain strategy.

Who are Scania?

Scania is a leading Swedish provider of transportation solutions, particularly for buses, trucks and heavy transport applications. The company strives to shift the transport industry towards sustainability to create better mobility for businesses, society and the environment.

As part of its strategy, Scania’s transportation management processes need a revamp to be more agile, with smarter strategies, to reduce waste and resource consumption. JDA Software was selected by Scania due to the company’s commitments to driving sustainable supply chain practices.

“We selected JDA as a partner to support Scania Logistics in optimizing our flows by merging production planning and outbound processes.” said Hans Ekman, Manager Outbound development, Scania Logistics.

JDA Software’s SaaS based solution aims to drive sustainable value by synchronising critical transportation processes, delivering optimal cost control and excellent service. With JDA Software's solution, Scania will be able to manage all global outbound transports from production units and body shops, in addition to managing end-to-end outbound logistics process.

“We will support Scania with critical real-time visibility to adjust truck routes and schedules to accommodate customers while ensuring those routes are sustainable.  This will enable short lead times and predictable deliveries. We’re happy to support their broad scale JDA deployment and look forward to seeing the results of this effort, from a supply chain and sustainability perspective.” said Johan Reventberg, president, EMEA, JDA.
