Global airlines receive excellence awards in Qatar
Emirates SkyCargo, Thai Airways and Southwest Airlines were amongst those to win the top Diamond Award at the ninth annual Air Cargo Excellence (ACE) Survey, which measures and ranks carriers and airports on their performance.
The Survey, which is performed by global air logistics magazine Air Cargo World, measures carriers and airports on specific criteria and ranks them to identify above or below average performance, had awards presented to them at the Air Cargo Excellence Awards in Doha, Qatar.
Airline winners are determined by freight forwarders who rate carriers on customer service, performance, value and information technology. Airports are rated by airlines on performance, value, facilities and regulatory operations.
Airlines received their awards in ceremonies held at the Sheraton Doha, where airlines won Diamond, Platinum and Gold Awards according to their performance in the survey.
Airports rated highest by freight forwarders included Ted Stevens Anchorage International in North America, Frankfurt Airport in Europe and Singapore Changi Airport in Asia. Arturo Merino Benitez Airport in Santiago received the Diamond for Latin America, and Dubai International Airport garnered the award for the Middle East.
"The Air Cargo Excellence Awards ceremony gave us a great opportunity to honor the airlines and airports that strive to meet excellence and to exceed past performances. The success of this event proves the importance and credibility of the Air Cargo Excellence survey, which has become an important benchmark of airline and airport performance," said Steve Prince, publisher of Air Cargo World.
