The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) has appointed Malcolm Harrison as its new Group CEO. 

Harrison (FCIPS) is currently Chief Executive Officer of the Crown Commercial Service at The Cabinet Office, and is due to take over the post from the current interim CEO, Gerry Walsh, in 2018.

Tim Richardson, Chair of CIPS Global Board of Trustees said: “After a lengthy recruitment process, Malcolm is a very welcome addition to the CIPS team, bringing with him a wealth of procurement and leadership experience from both the public and private sectors. 

“CIPS is in great shape and Malcolm will have a solid base from which to build the next phase of growth and development for the organisation.”

CIPS said that Harrison has extensive international experience in both general management and procurement, and across a number of industry sectors. 

Most recently in his role as Chief Executive Officer at the Crown Commercial Service, he has overseen a total annual spend of £13bn on common goods and services across the UK public sector.
