Dynamic data key to unlocking supplier value - TealBook CEO

Stephany Lapierre, CEO and Founder of supplier data foundation organisation, TealBook, on how procurement can be transformed with dynamic supplier data

April 2022, Procurement Magazine, Supply Chain Digital and Bizclik Media Group returned to the Tobacco Dock (London) to host our second Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE.

Dubbed ‘The Risk & Resilience Conference’ the two-day hybrid event, featuring keynotes, roundtables, Q&As, and 1-2-1s from inspirational and knowledgeable leaders in the procurement and supply chain space.

Transforming procurement with dynamic supplier data

Stephany Lapierre, CEO and Founder of TealBook delivered a keynote on how organisations can transform their procurement with dynamic supplier data.

Lapierre opened her keynote by highlighting the complexities of big data. “We all have a big data problem. It’s a complex challenge that is hard to manage and maintain,” she said.

While many organisations have been making the leap to the cloud, Lapierre warned “software doesn’t fix data". She added: "Just because you have implemented a technology doesn’t mean you will have clean data. You are still dependent on humans maintaining information.”

She explained that to drive value and success, organisations need to invest in collecting clean data. "No matter how much AI and machine learning an organisation throws at data, if it’s incomplete or unclean the level of value that can be gained from the insights is low, leading to narrow visibility," she said.

She added: “The supplier base is the biggest untapped asset,. If optimised properly it can deliver hundreds of millions of dollars in value, provided that supplier data is dynamic and available across systems and people.”
