C&S Wholesale Grocers appoints Chris Smith as Chief Supply Chain Officer
American grocery supply chain giant C&S Wholesale Grocers has appointed a new Chief Supply Chain Officer in Chris Smith, effective from 15 October 2018
C&S will leverage Smith’s 25 years of leadership experience in this lead logistics role, succeeding Peter Fiore, the firm’s VP of Distribution of 26 years, who is set to retire at the end of the year.
Smith joins C&S from pharmaceutical distributor McKesson, with whom he spent 13 years in senior leadership positions.
Notably, Smith currently serves on the Advisory Board for Supply Chain Leaders in Action, and on the Board of Directors for Cancer Support Community of Walnut Creek, California.
“I am thrilled to be joining the lead supply chain company in the food industry,” Smith said in the company’s statement announcing his appointment.
