The CPO Rising 2018 summit, held in Boston on 7th November, saw leading analyst firm Ardent Partners present five CPO awards to industry leaders. In addition to wards for “CPO of the year”, “best team performance”, “innovator of the year”, and “technology excellence”, Ardent Partners welcomed Scott Singer into the CPO Rising Hall of Fame, in recognition of a “career spent leading large, global procurement organisations”.

Singer’s career began at aircraft manufacturing company United Technologies where, according to CPO Rising, he “rose quickly, making an impact in driving technology adoption, expanding supplier innovation, and driving a large, Best-in-Class operation. It was no surprise that he ultimately ascended to the role of CPO”.

Singer is now a “globally-renowned business executive and former Chief Procurement Officer at Rio Tinto and United Technologies”. An early proponent of cloud-based technology transformation, Singer served as the Chief Procurement Officer, Chief Information Officer, and Head of Global Business Services between 2008 and 2011. Ardent Partners hailed him as “one of the first major CPOs to advance his career beyond procurement”.

Currently, Singer serves as a strategic advisor to Arxxus Technology Partners, and is a partner in the Americas division of IG. He attended the University of New Haven, where he received an Executive MBA in 1995.

Of the award, Mr Singer said: “It is an honor to be recognized by what I consider to be a premier research and advisory firm like Ardent Partners… I value my relationship with Ardent’s analyst team and I am thrilled to join such a prestigious list of CPO Rising Hall of Famers.”
