Ahead of Supply Chain Digital's inaugural Global Procurement & Supply Chain Awards, we take a look at the top 10 supply chain awards programmes in 2024

The supply chain industry has its fair share of awards ceremonies and initiatives, celebrating the great and the good from across the sector. 

For the first time, Supply Chain Digital, in collaboration with Procurement Magazine, has its own awards coming up later this year. Read on to find out more about the inaugural Global Procurement & Supply Chain Awards

Here, we take a look at the top 10 supply chain awards programmes taking place in 2024. 

10. World Air Cargo Awards

Staged by Air Cargo Week, the World Air Cargo Awards is scheduled to take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) on 26 June.

Considered to be one of the global air cargo industry’s most prestigious ceremonies, winning an award is recognition of true excellence and a sign of being a market leader. It heralds the hard work of team members and could prove inspirational for future performance. 

The awards also serve as an opportunity for potential winners to showcase their success to peers, customers and stakeholders, while heightening their business profile.

9. Gartner Power of the Profession™ Supply Chain Awards

The Gartner Power of the Profession™ Supply Chain Awards is an annual community-driven recognition programme that inspires supply chain transformation around the globe.

It heralds the breakthrough supply chain innovations which are set to make a lasting impact on the industry.

Key benefits for honourees include:

  • Showcasing supply chain leadership
  • Attracting top supply chain talent
  • Advancing the supply chain profession

The submission period for the 2025 awards will open on 2 September before closing just over six weeks later on 16 October. 

8. ASCM Awards of Excellence

Celebrating both corporations and individuals, the Association for Supply Chain Management’s (ASCM) Awards of Excellence recognise exceptional performance and dedication to advancing the field of supply chain management.

Corporate awards are as follows:

  • Corporate Transformation
  • Learning and Development
  • Making an Impact

And individuals stand a chance of winning in the following categories:

  • Emerging Supply Chain Leader
  • Supply Chain Leader
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champion

Winners will be announced during the North America edition of ASCM CONNECT 2024, which is being held in Austin, Texas from 9-11 September. 

7. Logistics Hall of Fame

Founded in 2003, the Logistics Hall of Fame honours leading figures who have made outstanding efforts to promote the further development of logistics and supply chain management.

In addition, it aims to document outstanding achievements in logistics, while encouraging and promoting innovation.

Members of the Logistics Hall of Fame include Frederick W. Smith, Founder and Executive Chairman of FedEx, and Jeff Bezos, Founder of Amazon.

At the time of writing the nomination portal for 2024 is open. In addition to Hall of Fame entry, nominees can also be put forward for the Logistics Leader of the Year Award, which honours the trailblazers currently taking the industry in an outstanding direction. 

6. ISM 30 Under 30 Rising Supply Chain Stars

The Institute for Supply Management’s 30 Under 30 list is a recognition programme for emerging supply management professionals. 

It shines a spotlight on outstanding young procurement/supply chain management professionals, heralding them for their passion, creativity and contributions to the sector. 

Nominees are reviewed based on four pillars: involvement in their professional organisation; contributions and achievements in supply chain; professional and personal characteristics; and any other extraordinary factors including community involvement, volunteer work, work-life balance and hobbies.

In addition to recognition, winners stand to receive discounts, mentorships and press coverage, not to mention invaluable inclusion in a network of ISM award winners. 

5. Supply Chain Sustainability Award

Decided by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), the Supply Chain Sustainability Award recognises and celebrates the work supply chain leaders are doing to drive positive social, environmental and economic change. 

With the CSCMP being the largest organisation for supply chain professionals, the gong holds significant weight to those who win. 

Proposed award recipients must be CSCMP members in order to be eligible, with three finalists presented to the CSCMP Board of Directors for vote.

Previous winners include IntelMicrosoftPasha Hawaii and Ron Jarvis, Chief Sustainability Officer at Home Depot

4. IATA Diversity & Inclusion Awards

The IATA Diversity & Inclusion Awards, sponsored by Qatar Airways, recognise individuals, organisations and initiatives that have made significant contributions to promoting and advancing diversity and inclusion in aviation.

They celebrate and showcase the efforts of those who have worked to create a more inclusive culture, foster a sense of belonging, and promote equity and fairness across the industry.

By honouring these achievements, the International Air Transport Association hopes to inspire others to follow suit and continue working towards a more diverse and inclusive aviation industry which is welcome to all. 

The submission deadline for 2024 is 17 April, with winners to be revealed during IATA’s Annual General Meeting in June

3. World Procurement Awards 

The World Procurement Awards, in association with Ivalua, are back for 2024, with this year’s ceremony set to take place at InterContinental London at The O2 on 16 May. 

The flagship gong, the Ivalua Procurement Excellence Award, recognises a leading and impactful example of a procurement function creating significant value for the business.

Excellence in this case can be defined as when procurement delivers tangible and quantifiable commercial impact through advanced approaches to spend management.

Last year’s winners included The Kraft Heinz CompanyMars and Johnson & Johnson, among numerous others.

2. Supply Chain Excellence Awards

Heading into its 28th year, the Supply Chain Excellence Awards now sets the standard for best practices across European supply chain management. 

The judging procedure process is widely recognised for its thoroughness, delivering valuable insights to entrants through feedback from a selection of esteemed judges, who collectively hold more than 750 years of experience.

Awards include the Supply Chain Visibility Award, Best Use of Robotics and the Customer Service Award. 

This year’s ceremony is being held in The Great Room at Grosvenor House, London, on 28 October. 

1. The Global Procurement & Supply Chain Awards

New for 2024, the Global Procurement & Supply Chain Awards are being staged during  Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE London later this year.

Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE London will be held over two days at the Business Design Centre on 24-25 September, with the awards ceremony set to take place on day one. 

This comprehensive programme of awards will acknowledge companies, professionals and projects that have demonstrated exceptional performance, innovation and strategic thinking. 

It serves as a prestigious platform to showcase success stories, inspire industry-wide advancements and celebrate the crucial role of procurement and supply chain in business success.
