FedEx Express focuses on Singapore as global logistics hub - a status marked by the must-attend Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE Singapore event

News that FedEx Express has opened a new regional headquarters in Singapore brings into sharp focus the growing reputation of this Southeast Asia city state as a major global logistics hub.

The new HQ will support FedEx operations in Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa. The move will help the company “manage some of the fastest growing markets in the world”, it says.

"This is a strategic step in connecting businesses in our vast region with greater speed and agility," says Kawal Preet, President of Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, FedEx Express. "Singapore’s geographic advantages make it a natural gateway which allows us to tap the immense opportunities presented by the fast-moving markets of the region, especially in Southeast Asia.

“As companies look to build more resilience in their supply chains, this move underlines our commitment to enhance the region’s logistics infrastructure."

Singapore is already the location of the FedEx South Pacific hub that serves as a central point for its operations across Southeast Asia, and a focal point for the FedEx Life Science Center, which provides specialist cold chain solutions for the healthcare sector.

FedEx has also established a Center of Excellence for Data Analytics in the city, which applies advanced digital technology to develop new solutions that make supply chains smarter.

Singapore is also the location of the Asia Pacific Security Operations Center (APSOC), which operates 24/7 and leverages state-of-the-art technology to monitor critical events, and safeguard FedEx assets and customer property in the Asia Pacific region.

Singapore’s pivotal role in global logistics is marked by the upcoming event, Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE Singapore, which will take place on March 21, 2024. The event will connect like-minded peers and companies throughout Asia.

Attendees at this virtual event will have access to insight, comment and advice from C-suite leaders across procurement and supply chain strategy, digitalisation, transformation and sustainability, in a series of keynotes, fireside chats and panel discussions.
