Who is GXO Logistics' New Chief Exec?

GXO Logistics is appointing Patrick Kelleher as its new Chief Executive Officer from 19 August 2025, marking a leadership handover at the top of the world’s largest pure-play contract logistics company.
With 33 years in global logistics, Patrick steps into the role following his time as CEO for North America at DHL Supply Chain, where he led operations across sectors including ecommerce, consumer goods and healthcare.
Patrick succeeds Malcolm Wilson, who is retiring and has led GXO’s global expansion since its spin-off. The incoming CEO now picks up the reins at a company operating across more than 1,000 sites with 150,000 team members and more than 200 million square feet of logistics space.
Patrick Kelleher’s career spans more than three decades, most of it at DHL Supply Chain. Over the years he has led global logistics strategies and delivered performance improvement across the Americas and beyond. His most recent role saw him as CEO for North America, a position in which he drove operational gains and commercial growth across one of the world’s most complex supply chains.
His experience covers consumer goods, healthcare, manufacturing and technology. He also led strategic projects in supply chain planning, automation and engineering.
While at DHL, he introduced new automation technologies including the Boston Dynamics Stretch Robot in 2023. He also oversaw four acquisitions in the past year, underlining a leadership approach based on scale, speed and measurable outcomes.
Patrick has also held global development roles, including as CEO of Americas at Williams Lea Tag when it operated under DHL ownership. That breadth of leadership – across operational, commercial and technology-led initiatives – reflects the evolving demands of GXO’s customer base.
GXO eyes next phase of logistics growth
Chairman of GXO’s board, Brad Jacobs, sees Patrick’s appointment as a step that builds on the foundation Malcolm Wilson put in place: "Patrick is a world-class operator with the relevant experience to lead GXO through its next phase of growth.
“His proven track record and deep expertise in engineered solutions, automation and cutting-edge contract logistics make him uniquely qualified to drive value for our customers and shareholders. We’re thrilled to welcome him as our new CEO."
Patrick will now be based at GXO’s global headquarters in Greenwich, Connecticut. He inherits a business shaped by global expansion and focused on solving complex logistics challenges for blue-chip customers.
GXO is known for using technology to support its operations at scale. As a pure-play contract logistics provider – meaning its entire focus is on outsourced logistics rather than owning products or inventory – GXO is positioned to capture further growth as companies look to external partners for ecommerce fulfilment, warehouse automation and supply chain strategy.
New leadership, same direction
The appointment marks a new chapter for GXO, but the continuity of focus remains. Patrick’s management style emphasises performance and execution. He’s known for his attention to operational detail and a track record built around customer value.
In his first remarks following the announcement, Patrick said: "I am excited to join GXO, a company at the forefront of the logistics industry. I look forward to working with the talented team to build on its strong foundation, continue to innovate and deliver exceptional value to our customers and shareholders."
That sense of continuity with innovation reflects GXO’s positioning – using engineered solutions, automation and logistics expertise to meet new customer demands.
With his global background, industry knowledge and experience leading complex logistics systems, Patrick takes on the role with a fast-moving sector to shape.
