Haleon is making sustainability accessible to its suppliers with the launch of its new Supplier Hub, building supply chain resilience and responsibility

Haleon has launched its supplier hub, a dedicated space where its suppliers can learn more about the path to sustainability.

Through this, it is working to meet its own sustainability goals and encouraging suppliers to do the same.

By providing access to resources, Haleon is tackling Scope 1, 2 and 3 to ensure full value chain decarbonisation.

A history of health

Haleon is a British pharmaceutical company and one of the biggest consumer healthcare businesses around the world.

It has brands across six categories and 170 countries globally, striving to deliver better everyday healthcare to its consumers.

Its brands include Sensodyne, Panadol, TUMS, Advil and Otrivin.

The company was established in 2022 after the combination of GSK, Novartis and Pfizer.

While Haleon is new, some of its brands have more than a 170 year long history.

Today, the company is driven by a desire of creating excellence and trust across the world, helping everyone gain access to healthcare and putting the consumer first.

It is dedicated to responsible business practices, which includes the addressing of social and environmental barriers which prevent people from accessing high-quality everyday health.

As a result, Haleon works to minimise its environmental impact, holds high standards across its entire value chain and empowers people around the world.

Haleon has enterprise metrics which monitor performance across the business, meaning it has up to date KPIs which ensures it stays on track of its sustainability and performance goals.

To better hold itself and its suppliers accountable, Haleon has launched its Supplier Hub.

Building supply chain resilience

Haleon recognises the importance of suppliers in its value chain, helping the company with innovation and efficiency.

To better provide suppliers with the help they need to meet sustainability goals and to create a space for the suppliers to come together, Haleon has launched the hub.

The company is committed to protecting human rights and the environment, aiming to achieve net zero from source to sale by 2040.

To ensure this happens, it sources suppliers who share these values and who are dedicated to continuously growing.

"We’ve just launched our Supplier Hub — a dedicated space where our suppliers can explore key elements of Haleon’s Sustainability program and access practical tools to support their journey," says Chris Low, Head of Sustainability Procurement & Packaging at Haleon.

"At the heart of the Hub is our new Sustainability Guidance for Suppliers document, designed to help partners take action across critical areas including human rights, sustainable sourcing, decarbonisation and more.

"We’re proud to be working together to build a more sustainable, resilient supply chain — and this Hub is a key step forward."

The hub acts as a platform where suppliers can gain access to all the information they need in order to act as responsibly as possible, including a guidance document and initiative information.

It also takes suppliers - or potential suppliers - to a portal where they can gain onboarding access.

Through creating this efficient space, Haleon is ensuring its suppliers can have easy access to sustainability guidance.

Supplier expectations

Haleon is asking its suppliers to commit to:

  • assessing carbon emissions baseline
  • setting a science-based target
  • moving to 100% renewable electricity
  • defining net-zero roadmap
  • cascading decarbonisation across the supply chain

Through meeting these initiatives, suppliers are showing they will add value to the supply chain.

To help suppliers meet these targets, Haleon is using carbon pricing as a commercial incentive.

Haleon is dedicated to driving innovation and resilience throughout its supply chain, ensuring its chain sees sustainable and economic growth.
