Manifest Vegas: Q&A with C.H. Robinson's Chris Cutshaw

During Manifest Vegas, Chris Cutshaw VP at C.H. Robinson shared insights into how the logistics leader is utilising its data ecosystem to drive lean AI services.
With a platform supporting 80,000 customers and 450,000 carriers, he explained how the company is moving beyond simple transactions to provide true value through optimised supply chains and emission reduction.
A centerpiece of the strategy is the recently launched Always On Logistics Planner, an AI-powered solution designed to act as an extension of a customer’s staff. By automating "keep the lights on" tasks, the technology is enabling teams to shift from tactical work to more strategic, innovative problem-solving.
Can you tell us about C.H. Robinson’s scale and how you leverage your data?
C.H. Robinson is a global leader in lean AI services. We help customers accelerate commerce through the world's most connected platform supporting 80,000 customers and 450,000 carriers.
We have more connected data points and more transactions happening on our platform than really any other provider. So we help take that digital information and convert it to true value and help optimise customer supply chains, saving cost, increasing transit time, focused on emissions – really tailoring the solution to the customer's needs.
You recently launched a new AI tool. What impact is it having on your customers?
We launched the Always On Logistics Planner which is an AI powered solution that we deployed last year.
It's bringing digital capabilities and extension of the customer's staff, which allows us to achieve amazing productivity. But what's critical is it's unlocking our customers and our team to go after real problems and not just focused on 'keep the lights on' type work.
So, that's been an amazing launch that we've had that's delivering real meaningful benefits.
How do you see supply chain strategies evolving over the next 18 months?
The 18 month supply chain strategy is really going to be defined on how you can quickly incorporate AI into your supply chain, how you can get the benefits out of that and how you can quickly scale that across your teams.
I think it's about transforming the talent and labour force that we have supporting supply chains to go from tactical to more strategic so we can focus on innovative solutions, cost savings ideas, emissions reduction and performance improvement while keeping the engine running.
