A company for all

Lenovo is a global technology company with a US$69bn revenue and is currently ranked 248 in the Fortune Global 500.

The company envisions delivering “Smarter Technology for All” by advancing its infrastructure with AI, so it can become more readily available to a wider consumer base.

It aims to build “a more equitable, trustworthy and smarter future for everyone” through its investments in innovative advancements.

As well as working to bring AI into every household, Lenovo uses it in its own business transformations.

It relies on AI to strengthen its business operations, enhancing efficiency and global supply chain resilience.

Che Min Tu, SVP and Group Operations Officer of Lenovo says: “At Lenovo, our mission is to create Smarter AI for All.

“To build the kind of technology our customers expect, we need to lead by example within our own business.

“By integrating AI across our global supply chain, we’re not only able to support the growing business demand, but also improve the customer experience and cut order-to-ship times in what is arguably one of the most complex and dynamic global business environments.”

Greater technology, greater efficiency

In recent years, the company has emphasised a more streamlined planning as part of its operational logistics.

Through using digital tools, it has been able to significantly improve procurement and supplier collaboration, as well as improving logistics visibility.

Part of its supply chain improvements have helped Lenovo meet its Environmental, Social and Governance commitments, as the transformation has led it to form more sustainable supply chains.

Ben Massie, Vice President of Global Supply Chain for Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group, comments: “As supply chains become more complex, staying resilient is no longer enough.

The advanced technology has enabled a more streamlined scheduling process, with significant improvements in efficiency throughout the supply chain.

Decisions are more productive and at a much faster speed, meaning Lenovo’s employees can work more efficiently.

As a result, customer satisfaction is increased, as they are experiencing more specific customer care.

Guan Wei, SVP and Head of Global Supply Chain of Lenovo adds: “The use of AI in our systems is ultimately benefiting our customers.

Lenovo’s global impact

Lenovo has over 30 manufacturing sites in 11 markets around the world, including the Asia Pacific, North America, Europe and the Middle East. It employs approximately 77,000 people worldwide, creating strong, global supply chains.

Part of Lenovo’s goal is to provide more advanced technology which builds a more sustainable future.

In 2023, the company committed to reaching net zero GHG emissions by 2050, relying on collaboration with suppliers and accountability to get there. It is committed to ESG management across the end-to-end supply chain process, demanding high-quality parts from all its suppliers.

Lenovo's inclusion in the GSC Top 25 – which ranks Fortune Global 500 and Forbes Global 2000 companies based on business performance and opinion – places it among global leaders representing a range of industries.

Gartner’s continuous recognition of Lenovo’s supply chain excellence shows the tech giant is consistently improving its supply chain impact.
