Coupa Inspire 2025: Interview with Tomas Gogar, Rossum

Supply chain leaders, procurement practitioners, technologists and finance experts came together in Las Vegas for the latest instalment of Coupa Inspire.
During the 2025 edition, Supply Chain Digital caught up with Tomas Gogar, Co-Founder and CEO at Rossum, to discuss the importance of in-person events and the future of AI.
The power of partnership
The relationship between Rossum and Coupa exemplifies how strategic partnerships can accelerate growth in the modern business landscape.
What began 12 as an official partnership just 12 months ago has rapidly evolved into something much more significant.
"It's actually super interesting," explains Tomas. "We became official partners a year ago and since then it exploded. Clearly, Coupa customers love Rossum and Rossum customers love Coupa."
This mutual appreciation recently culminated in Rossum achieving platinum partner status with Coupa, a testament to the synergy between the two platforms.
The partnership reflects a shared philosophy that resonates with a particular segment of the market. Both companies champion cloud-native, AI-driven solutions that appeal to forward-thinking businesses ready to embrace modern approaches to enterprise software.
A human element in a digital age
Despite being deeply embedded in the world of AI and automation, Tomas maintains a refreshingly human perspective on business relationships.
Speaking about the importance of in-person events like Coupa Inspire, he reflects on a post-COVID realisation about the irreplaceable value of face-to-face interactions.
He comments: "Even with investors, if you meet somebody in person, there is something different to it and it builds some kind of connection that I'm not really able to explain."
This insight extends beyond mere networkingâTomas notes that personal meetings actually improve his responsiveness to emails and strengthen professional relationships in ways that video calls simply cannot replicate.
Looking ahead: The AI revolution
Perhaps most compelling is Tomas's long-term vision for artificial intelligence's role in transforming business operations.
Having been in the AI field "since the beginning," he brings a unique perspective on the technology's evolution and potential.
"I'm so excited that the world has found AI," he says, recalling his early university days when he recognised the transformative potential of the technology.
Over the ensuring years, Tomas has watched AI adoption spread from academic circles to mainstream acceptance.
However, he maintains a balanced view on expectations. While acknowledging the tremendous potential, he cautions against over-hyping immediate results: "It will not be immediate. We cannot over hype it, but it'll definitely change the world in the next five to 10 years."
This measured optimism, combined with Rossum's focus on solving real-world problems in supply chain management, positions the company well for the next phase of AI adoption.
As businesses continue to seek efficient, cloud-native solutions for their operational challenges, partnerships like the one between Rossum and Coupa may well define the future of enterprise software integration.
