This month we’ve focused on a range of technologies that are set to dramatically impact the supply chain industry, checking out new software, new vessels and a new social network that could revolutionise B2B communications.

Social platform Businessfriend is designed to keep the business environment at its heart, hosting a range of great features to ensure that social networking leads to productivity. In this issue, we examine the range of features that Businessfriend has to offer the B2B environment, and why it could be the first social network to offer true value to the supply chain industry.

With less than two months to go before the launch of Maersk’s new behemoth ship, the Triple-E, we quizzed Jacob Sterling, Head of Environment and CSR at Maersk Line about the mechanics of operating such a mammoth vessel in unpredictable markets.

We also caught up with Steve Kiefer, Vice-President of Marketing at B2B e-commerce specialist GXS following the release of the Stanford Global Supply Chain Management Forum’s latest report. The first expert to feature in our new SCM section, Kiefer highlights the rising value of cloud-based B2B integration programmes.

Finally, Supply Chain Digital’s Top Ten feature has returned to the magazine, as we check out the biggest logistics firms by revenue.
