Inchcape Shipping Services, the world’s leading maritime provider, was delighted to support the Sailors’ Society again by entering two teams in the 3 Peaks Challenge 2014 event.

Both teams were made up of willing volunteers from around ISS’ global network, and included representatives from Dubai, Singapore, London and Namibia.

Months of planning and training culminated in both teams successfully accomplishing their objective, to climb the three highest peaks of Great Britain - Ben Nevis in Scotland, Helvellyn in England and Snowdon in Wales - all in under 24 hours, and put them well on their way to raising their overall target of £13,000.

Speaking for the teams, Dan Whysall, ISS Corporate Development Manager said: “We were blessed with excellent weather and warm sunshine on all three peaks and finished the challenge with smiles and no injuries, apart from a few sore feet.

“On behalf of all the team members we would like to thank the company, our colleagues, and our customers who have supported this fundraising attempt so generously with donations, pledges and support. Our fundraising page is still open and we would welcome any final donations”

ISS has long been an ambassador for the Sailors’ Society, whose mission it is to enrich and enhance the well-being of seafarers by visiting ships in port and providing Seafarers’ Clubs and Welfare Centres, and offering merchant seafarers practical help and welfare, pastoral and spiritual support, financial assistance and family liaison.
