InPost Group has just delivered another record-breaking year, delivering more than one billion parcels for the first time in its history.

In Q4 2024 alone, the logistics leader processed 322.1 million parcels, a 20% year-on-year (YoY) increase, with almost 14 million parcels handled across Europe on its busiest day.

So, just how did InPost Group manage to achieve this symbolic milestone?

Strong growth across core markets

In Poland, where InPost is headquartered, demand for automated parcel machines (APMs) and to-door delivery services surged throughout the 2024, leading to a record-breaking 209.9 million parcels in Q4 2024, representing 20% YoY growth. This exceeded earlier estimates due to strong performances from SMEs and the fashion industry.

Domestic and international e-commerce marketplaces also played a significant role in boosting volume, alongside InPost’s guaranteed pre-Christmas delivery and reliable logistics.

Mondial Relay, InPost’s French subsidiary, recorded 77.7 million parcels during Q4, a 10% YoY increase. Growth in the B2C sector – up by 28% – was a key driver, helping reduce reliance on C2C services. APM usage rose by more than 80% YoY, underscoring the growing importance of lockers in parcel delivery.

Meanwhile, in the UK, InPost delivered 27.2 million parcels in Q4, reflecting a staggering 58% YoY growth. This surge was attributed to significant network expansion and improved logistics operations. Despite operating at more than 100% capacity, InPost sees substantial potential for further APM deployment in the region.

A landmark year

As mentioned, InPost surpassed the one billion parcel mark milestone in 2024, achieving a total of 1,091.6 million parcels – a 22% YoY increase. This growth outpaced the overall e-commerce market in all major geographies, including Poland, France, and the UK.

Poland remained a key driver, with 709.3 million parcels delivered, a 20% YoY increase. SMEs, fashion retailers and both domestic and international marketplaces were the primary contributors. Mondial Relay delivered 266.6 million parcels, an 11% YoY rise, with its B2C segment growing by 26%. Automated parcel machine volume in France doubled, rising 103% YoY.

The UK saw particularly strong growth, with 93.2 million parcels delivered in 2024 – double the volume seen in 2023. This success was bolstered by InPost’s acquisition of Menzies, which brought the entire UK logistics process under its ownership.

Rafał Brzoska, CEO at InPost

“2024 has been another milestone for InPost Group, exceeding our expectations from the beginning of the year across all our markets," comments Rafał Brzoska, CEO at InPost. "We set new records in both volumes delivered and network expansion. For the first time ever, our total volume surpassed one billion parcels and APM deployment exceeded 11,000 machines.

"We concluded the year with another successfully managed peak season, handling a record almost 14 million parcels on our busiest pre-Christmas day. In Poland, our benchmark market, InPost was again the only logistics provider that guaranteed delivery of parcels until the very last moment on the Christmas Eve.

"Based on strong Q4 trading results, we feel comfortable with our full-year outlook communicated in November and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.”

Expanding the APM network

InPost’s out-of-home delivery network grew substantially in 2024, with more than 11,500 new APMs deployed. The total number of APMs reached 46,977 globally, a 33% YoY increase, with 57% of the group’s 82,000 locations now featuring lockers.

In Poland, InPost expanded its APM network by 15%, bringing the total to around 25,000 machines. In cities, 90% of residents are now within a seven-minute walk of an APM, cementing InPost as the preferred delivery brand for 93% of users in the country.

Mondial Relay’s network grew by 18% to more than 31,000 locations, with almost 4,000 additional APMs installed in 2024, bringing the total to more than 9,200. Similarly, the UK network expanded with nearly 3,000 new lockers, ending the year with more than 9,200 machines and at least13,000 out-of-home points.

Heading into 2025, InPost remains focused on enhancing user experience by adding features for merchants and customers alike.
