How is DHL Shaping UAE's Logistics Sector?
DHL continues to reinforce its global presence by expanding its operations in the United Arab Emirates, responding to growing demand for comprehensive logistics solutions.
The leading global logistics provider is introducing DHL Supply Chain to the region by strategically transferring specific business operations from DHL Global Forwarding.
The move aligns with DHL’s mission to offer end-to-end logistics services that meet the evolving needs of multinational corporations, small businesses and industries across the UAE.
Expanding operations for growth
DHL is making a significant shift in its logistics operations within the UAE by transitioning seven facilities from DHL Global Forwarding to DHL Supply Chain, an industry leader in contract logistics.
This strategic handover will bring in 600 dedicated logistics professionals, enabling DHL to expand its services and address the increasing demand for integrated logistics solutions in the region.
This transfer goes beyond a simple shift in resources. DHL aims to enhance the scope of services available, particularly for sectors like technology, automotive, aviation, energy, engineering, e-commerce and fashion.
By adding contract logistics to its already extensive range of cross-border transport, freight and forwarding services, DHL is better positioned to provide holistic solutions for storage, fulfilment and aftermarket services, crucial to its customers' supply chain operations.
Keeping service seamless
Hendrik Venter, CEO of DHL Supply Chain Europe, Middle East and Africa, highlights that this expansion marks a key progression in DHL’s mission to meet rising market needs without compromising service quality.
"With the increasing demand for comprehensive end-to-end supply chain solutions, expanding our contract logistics portfolio in this fast-growing region was a natural progression," he explains.
Strengthening partnerships and services
DHL's decision to introduce DHL Supply Chain into the UAE is not just a response to growing customer demand but also a reflection of the company’s strategy to enhance its global service offerings.
The Group has been consistently growing its portfolio, which now includes warehousing, fulfilment and aftermarket services, catering to various sectors with a focus on sustainable and customer-centred logistics solutions.
"Earlier this year, we completed the integration of Danzas AEI Emirates into DHL Global Forwarding, significantly improving service efficiency across the UAE, GCC and MEA regions," adds Amadou Diallo, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding for the Middle East and Africa.
This success now paves the way for DHL Supply Chain to take over the management of seven major facilities, with Diallo affirming that the transfer is a logical next step for serving DHL’s growing customer base.
With more than 395,000 employees across 220 countries, DHL is committed to connecting people and businesses through secure and reliable logistics.
The company's long-term ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 underscores its efforts to drive sustainable trade flows across the globe.
As DHL Supply Chain takes over operations in the UAE, customers can expect enhanced services, seamless operations and a renewed focus on meeting the complex logistics needs of growing industries in the region.
