Logistics provider Damco was honoured at the 8th Annual SCM Logistics Excellence awards today, winning the “Supply Chain Sustainability Award” for excellence in showcasing customer sustainability results.

This is the second year in a row that Damco has been awarded at the Logistics Excellence Awards, following last year’s ‘Supply Chain Best Partnership Award’.

This year’s award was given at the SCM Logistics World Conference, which is held this year at the Marina Bay Sands Singapore, which brings executives together from both the supply chain and logistics industry. The awards are decided by the delegates of the conference as well as supply chain practitioners around the world, who cast their votes in a global voting system.

"Sustainability & green logistics are critical to the industry's growth and with Damco’s excellent track record in championing methodologies & processes in enhancing their partners' sustainability initiatives in conjunction with their service delivery - Damco is helping their partners drive change to green their operations," says Eleanor Uy, General Manager with Terrapinn, the conference organisor.

Created to honour and generate public recognition of the positive contributions of organisations and individuals in Asia’s supply chain & logistics sector, the 8th annual SCM Logistics Excellence Awards is considered one of the most prestigious awards for excellence in supply chain management and logistics.

Upon accepting the award in Singapore, Damco’s Global Head of Green Logistics Sarah Flagg said: “This is a clear testament to the advances we have made within the field of green logistics and to the strength of our customer partnerships in creating sustainable supply chains."

“We are very proud of award and we will continue to keep green logistics and sustainability as a core component of our supply chain management services,” Flagg added.
