Supply chains form the backbone of global trade, powering the movement of every physical product we consume, yet their operations often rely on outdated systems and must grapple with narrow margins.

In a bid to address inefficiencies, boon, an AI-driven platform for commercial fleets, is bidding to transform supply chain and logistics.

Having secured US$20.5m in a Series A funding round led by Marathon and Redpoint Ventures, the business is set to expand its capabilities, promising significant benefits across industries such as food delivery, field services and construction.

A single AI agent for complex logistics

boon offers a single system that automates repetitive manual tasks, eliminating the need for multiple tools typically used in logistics operations. Its AI agent learns manual workflows in a matter of days, before taking over tasks in seamless fashion, saving fleets time and money.

The platform already supports dozens of companies, improving operations across 6,800 vehicles and completing 170,000 loads.

“Fleets are the connective tissue in our country, responsible for getting us every physical good and service we consume or use at home and work," explains Deepti Yenireddy, Co-Founder and CEO of boon.

"The jobs are already incredibly hard and overworked teams have to also manage an average of 15-20 tech tools in their daily jobs, for everything from order entry to optimising fuel costs.

"With today’s advances in AI, we can offload that work to an agent powered by AI, saving significant time and money."

Deepti Yenireddy, Co-Founder and CEO of boon

boon’s development team, which boasts experience from Apple, Google, DoorDash and Shell, among others, has designed the platform to address industry-specific challenges. The latest cash injection will enable the company to expand its engineering and go-to-market (GTM) teams over the next 18 months.

Ultimately, the goal is to develop more advanced agent workflows to assist customers in sectors such as transportation, warehousing and field services.

Practical benefits and proven results

boon’s AI-driven solutions tackle pain points like fuel optimisation, document management and compliance, delivering clear cost savings and efficiency gains.

It has the potential to transform operational workflows as follows:

  • Training speed: The system mimics human workflows within days, providing quick deployment for customers.
  • Cost savings: Fleets save US$7-10 per truck daily through AI-led optimisations, such as selecting the most cost-effective fuel stops based on real-time data. For Double D Distribution, AI-generated fuel recommendations have saved US$7.40 per truck per day.
  • Faster billing: By automating document submission, boon accelerates billing cycles. For example, JIT Transport reduced its billing time from 14 days to 2 days, while Bluegrass Supply Chain saves 15 hours weekly by automating billing tasks.
  • Compliance efficiency: Automation of hours of service (HoS) submissions saves fleets hours every week. Double Diamond Transport has reduced compliance tasks by 90+ minutes daily.

“What’s required to deliver a strawberry is very different from what’s required to move people and solving that kind of difficult problem is what gets the best engineers excited,” says Gokul Rajaram, Partner at Marathon.

“The boon team is driven entirely by the heroes they serve: the customers on the roads and in the warehouses; bringing the food we eat from the farms and factories to our tables. It’s incredibly important work and boon's smart solution will make a tangible difference in each person’s daily life – and on customers’ bottom lines."

Pioneering the future of logistics

Clearly, investors are recognising boon’s potential to reshape logistics.

Urvashi Barooah, Partner at Redpoint Ventures, adds: “boon harnesses the latest AI innovation to create a single, simple platform for its customers in the commercial fleet industry. The opportunity is enormous as supply chain and logistics is one of the largest industries globally and the potential impact is even bigger.

"First-generation point solution software tools have added a heavy administrative load to these customers and, through cutting-edge technology and a deep understanding of the space, Deepti and team are making it easy to offload that work to their agent."

Looking ahead, boon plans to expand its platform, integrating finance and payroll to maximise margins and create immediate value for logistics operators.

The company’s vision extends beyond incremental improvements; instead, it intends to redefine how the supply chain operates.

“Our ultimate mission is nothing short of extraordinary," concludes Deepti. "

We aim to enable commercial fleets to become up to 100 times more efficient."
