One of the largest meets of trucking industry professionals is now open for applications from wannabe exhibitors.

The Mid America Trucking Show (MATS) will take place on March 27 – 39, 2014, in Louisville, Kentucky, US.

A tradeshow, MATS also serves as the annual forum for the heavy-duty trucking industry, providing face-to-face interaction between industry representatives and trucking professionals.

Hundreds of big name companies exhibit at the show, and thousands of people attend.

It offers the chance to see all the newest and biggest trucks allowed on US roads, as well as seminars, technology, and ‘show-and-shine beauties’ including monster trucks.

A statement from MATS said: “Attendees are driven to MATS because they can efficiently research the latest products and services to provide their business with a competitive edge. Exhibitors participate in MATS to effectively introduce new offerings, increase brand awareness, promote products and connect with suppliers, customers, and prospects.

“MATS is where the industry comes together, where attendees network with Fortune 500 companies, where media outlets from around the world go to report on the business of trucking, and where trucking business gets done.

“It's common knowledge that if you want to conduct business in the trucking industry, you have to be at MATS.”

MATS began in the 1970's, when a private management group was formed by one Paul K Young, to create the largest and most diversified trucking show in the United States of America.

The first MATS was held in 1972 with 83 Exhibitors and 4000 visitors in attendance. The show occupied a portion of the West Wing of the original Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center.

Despite being  a long way away, applications are now open for anyone wanting to exhibit in 2014.
