Manufacturing a successful supply chain

The link between the manufacturing floor and a company’s supply chain has never been more critical than it is now, in the era of lean optimisation. And in this, my final edition of Supply Chain Digital before I, myself, move into the world of manufacturing, it seemed the perfect time to break down the relationship between the two.

From a distribution perspective, Niraj Singh and John Lowe of Cognizant Business Consulting assesses the key link between the manufacturing floor and the distribution centre, while Roy Shurling of Lectra puts a lean spin on the entire process.

Leading the way this month though stands a much more general sweep across the world of supply chain, with industry-leading FedEx on hand to look into its crystal ball at what might befall the sector over the next two decades. How dependant will the global economy be on the ever-competitive logistics race for perfection 20 years from now?

Good, old-fashioned countdowns make up the remainder of this month’s edition as Nick Ford of industry specialists, Xchganing gives five top tips to ensure best practice in procurement outsourcing and the largest rail networks in the world are explored.

·         The supply chain of the future

·         High-flying distribution success starts on the manufacturing floor

·         Outsourcing leads to income

·         Optimising the lean domino effect

·         Top 10 global rail networks

Enjoy the issue!
