Walmart recognised for best supply chain mangement
Walmart has been recognised as having the best supply chain management in a survey of manufacturers.
The report by Kantar Retail named Walmart, Kroger and Costco as the top three retailers with the best supply chain management.
The report said: "The top retailers on Supply Chain Management remained largely consistent compared to last year, representing a wide range of channels.
"Walmart once again retained its #1 position, gaining about 80% of manufacturer mentions — a testament to its continued dedication and expediency in this area.
"Kroger and Costco maintained their #2 and #3 ranks, followed by Publix, which rose one rank to #4. Target came in at #5, having swapped positions with Publix.

"eCommerce expert Amazon remained at #6, followed by Meijer, H-E-B, and Walgreens — which all held their positions from #6 to #9, as well. Finally, Ahold Delhaize edged into the list to take the #10 spot."
Comments in the report said of the top three companies:
"Walmart knows how to drive costs out of the systems to efficiently deliver products, and ensure minimal damage in doing so."
"Kroger has strong reporting and communication, as well as data availability."
"Costco has a relentless focus on forecasting, availability, lead times, and consistency."
