PepsiCo Enhances Supply Chain With Autonomous Fleet

Multinational food and beverage corporation PepsiCo is staying ahead of the curve by involving autonomous vehicles further into its transportation process.
PepsiCo and technology company Gatik have forged a multi-year alliance making it the largest autonomous freight deployment to date. The partnership looks to strengthen the corporation’s supply chain while improving delivery consistency, adding capacity and support customer service across its high-volume operations.
“Serving our vast network of customers requires a supply chain that is safe, reliable, and built for the future,” says Jim Farrell, Senior Vice President of Supply Chain at PepsiCo.
“Gatik is already operating inside our networks and brings the autonomous freight technology, commercial experience and scale we need to strengthen service, add capacity and move products more consistently for our customers.”
Comprehensive deliveries
To maintain operational efficiency, PepsiCo utilises Gatik’s autonomous vehicles for time-sensitive, daily transportation needs.
These vehicles facilitate comprehensive deliveries across surface roads and freeways, with the capability to manage logistics for hundreds of different locations without any interference.
This integration enables PepsiCo to refine its distribution by adjusting route plans, such as adding or removing stops, to better align with fluctuating demand and activity levels at its various centres.
Gatik currently manages PepsiCo's logistics across Texas, Arkansas and Arizona, where the company has successfully achieved a 98% on-time delivery rate.
Gautam Narang, CEO and Co-Founder of Gatik, adds: “Autonomous trucking has reached commercial scale when it operates inside one of the most demanding supply chains on the planet.
“That is what Gatik is doing with PepsiCo. Our autonomous trucks are already moving products every day across Texas, Arizona, and Arkansas, and this partnership is proof that Gatik is becoming central to how the world’s largest companies move goods.”
Continued operational excellence
The collaboration between Gatik and PepsiCo was initiated in 2022, marked by the food and beverage giant's inaugural deployment of one of Gatik's autonomous vehicles.
PepsiCo has made a commitment to improve a number of aspects within its supply chain.
In 2025, PepsiCo began implementing Salesforce Agentforce AI into its operations to enhance the customer experience, improve sales and build upon continued operational excellence.
Ramon Laguarta, Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo believes: “AI is reshaping our business in ways that were once unimaginable”
“This collaboration with Salesforce is another step toward a more connected and adaptive PepsiCo, deploying AI to unlock smarter and faster decision-making, fuel innovation and power sustainable growth.”
Marc Benioff, Salesforce’s Chair and CEO, emphasis the importance of strategic innovation within the partnership: “We are excited to see PepsiCo, a company whose products are enjoyed over a billion times a day, at the forefront of the digital labour revolution with Agentforce,
“Ramon and his team are reimagining how work gets done by uniting human expertise with the intelligence of our deeply unified platform.”
PepsiCo also partnered with fertiliser company Yara International in 2025 to scale low-carbon farming throughout Latin America and Europe and improve its regenerative agriculture programme.
This move signifies PepsiCo’s commitment to transforming sustainable agriculture within its supply chain process.
