People Moves: Jim Barber

Job From: Chief Operating Officer, UPS
Job To: President and Chief Executive Officer, Vestis
Vestis Corporation has named Jim Barber its next President and Chief Executive Officer. The move comes into effect on 2 June 2025 and returns Phillip Holloman to his role as Chairman of the Board after serving in an interim executive capacity.
Jim’s background stretches over 35 years, built in the nuts and bolts of logistics at UPS. There, he rose from delivery driver to Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the company’s sprawling, global route-based delivery infrastructure. It’s this deep operational grounding that Vestis now brings in-house, along with a boardroom presence that includes roles at CH Robinson, US Foods and UNICEF USA.
His appointment signals a clear pivot to logistics-led execution. He’s charged with full oversight of the business, from customer service to talent strategy. Vestis operates in the uniform rental, direct sales and workplace supplies space—a sector built on reliable, efficient delivery.
“I am honoured to be appointed President and CEO and look forward to working alongside Phillip, the Board and the talented team at Vestis,” Jim says. “I see exciting opportunities ahead as we focus on delivering for our customers and driving value for our shareholders through a commitment to operational excellence and best-in-class service.”
His start date in early June gives him time to transition before peak operational periods kick in. Vestis' plan now centres on embedding logistics efficiency deeper into every part of the business.
