Jabil has won the Procurement Technology Award at the Global Procurement & Supply Chain Awards 2024

Jabil has won the Procurement Technology Award at The Global Procurement & Supply Chain Awards.

"We've been graciously awarded the Procurement Technology Award. We're incredibly excited to accept this on behalf of all the amazing team members at Jabil," said Michael Long, Chief Marketing Officer at Jabil." It is really an affirmation of how great the team has worked and the success that we've been able to have in this area. We pride ourselves in being technology-forward and embracing it. We've been making positive changes for our organisation, and I think this just kind of builds on that excitement."

Jabil, a global manufacturing solutions provider, has made significant strides in revolutionising its procurement processes through innovative technology adoption.

The company's procurement team, responsible for managing a vast network of over 140,000 employees across more than 100 locations worldwide, has successfully implemented a suite of cutting-edge tools to streamline operations and drive efficiency.

At the heart of Jabil's procurement transformation is the implementation of Coupa, a spend-management platform that has yielded impressive results.

Within seven years of adoption, Jabil brought US$6bn under management, with 30% of invoices now processed without human intervention. The company has achieved a remarkable seven-fold return on investment within just four years of implementation.

Jabil's procurement team has further enhanced its capabilities by integrating WalkMe, a digital adoption platform, with Coupa. This strategic move has dramatically improved user experience and catalysed adoption rates. Catalogue provider adoption surged by 89% between 2022 and 2024, leading to substantial cost savings.

The integration has also streamlined the onboarding process for new Coupa users, reducing the time required by half and efficiently managing the addition of 500 to 600 new users monthly.

The company has made significant progress in e-sourcing and contract lifecycle management. Jabil now manages 72.65% of its global spend—over 100,000 sourcing events annually—through e-sourcing, enhancing compliance, visibility and cost leadership.

The implementation of Coupa Contract Lifecycle Management Advanced has standardised contracting processes, utilising global templates and an interactive clause library.

Jabil's success in procurement technology adoption is evident in its steadily increasing catalogue adoption rates, rising from 27% in March 2022 to an impressive 51% by May 2024.

This upward trajectory underscores the effectiveness of Jabil's strategic approach to procurement technology, positioning the company as a leader in the field.

In a significant leap forward for procurement technology, two companies have demonstrated remarkable success in leveraging advanced solutions to transform their purchasing processes. The platform's integration of AI and machine learning has yielded impressive results, with one oil and gas client reporting a 50% reduction in source-to-contract cycle times and a 60% decrease in supplier onboarding duration.

GEP SMART's impact extends beyond efficiency gains. A top industrial manufacturer achieved over $500 million in savings through strategic sourcing initiatives facilitated by the platform.
